Illustrations

A good illustration can hit just the right tone for the given occasion or event. Taking the client's ideas and conveying them through photography, line-art, or animation makes an idea come to life. As I've often said after a brainstorming session, "The idea is already in my head. I just need to get it out."

Clash of the Anker-bots Graphic

Task: Compete nationally for an illustration contest.

Concept: The idea is simple. Use only Anker products in the illustration. From there, I did a bunch of downloading and clipping in Photoshop.

Production: I laid all the cropped images on a blank Photoshop page started pairing items to see what would happen. This was the result. I won the contest and was honored to be picked over all the other entries.

Don Felder Concert Poster

Task: Create an engaging poster that would be signed by the former Eagles guitarist, Don Felder, after a private concert.

Concept: He has had such a robust career, it was easy to find imagery to use on a poster. I did not shy away from him getting older and peppered the poster with images of then and now.

Production: Because the color space from each image would be so different, I explored coloring using posterization in Photoshop. With just four colors being used, it freed me up to concentrate on the design

River Region Couples Retreat

Task: Create a flyer to promote an upcoming marriage retreat for couples around central Alabama.

Concept: There was no theme so we pitched the idea, based on lesson topics, that marriage is more than just luck. Each letter of LUCK represented a lesson topic.

Production: Using supplied photos, this piece come together fairly easily.

Alabama AgCast Poster

Task: Create a poster to promote an agriculture-based podcast.

Concept: Pulling inspiration from the logo, the colors were an easy pick. I wanted to create a whimsical image that could be memorable. The cow with sunglasses and headphones was also produced as a sticker that was handed out during the promotion.

Production: The cow art was also produced as a stand-alone sticker and passed out during the event where the poster was featured.

"Alfavengers" Poster

Task: Create a poster for internal use based on a superhero theme.

Concept: This was mostly for fun but it served a purpose in preparation for an internal campaign based on the Avengers for Alfa Insurance.

Production: Yes, there are some DC characters in this mostly Marvel concept but I was running out of recognizable characters so it had to be done.
